National Government’s Affordable Housing Program in Nyandarua.
His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses N. Badilisha Kiarie’s partnership with His Excellency President(Dr.) William Ruto under the National Government’s Affordable Housing Program will yield 100 units of houses in Nyandarua within a year.
Speaking during a briefing in Ol’Kalou with County Executive Committee Member for Public Works, Roads, Transport, Housing and Energy Hon. Cecilia Kirira, officials from the National Housing Corporation (NHC) said the units will include 20 studios apartments, 40 one-bedroom and 40 two-bedroom houses.
Payment for the houses will involve a 10 per cent first installment, with the rest of the money being paid over 18 years.
To register for the allocation, one must be a Kenyan citizen aged 18 years and above, have a valid national identity card and possess a valid Personal Identification Number (PIN) certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority.
Hon. Kirira noted that the program caters for housing needs of Nyandarua’s low- income earners while bridging the gap of inadequate housing in line with the Governor’s transformative agenda, which she added has been bolstered by the President’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
Present were Chief Officer of Tourism, Trade and Industrialization Mr. Samuel Gitaka, alongside directors QS. Josphat Kaburu (Housing) and Dr. Martha Mwathi (Health).
