His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha has this afternoon hosted a delegation drawn from CARE and GAIN – the two organizations spearheading the CASCADE project, a nutritional improvement intervention, in several counties, Nyandarua being one of them.
The objective of the project is to “improve food security and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition of at least 5 million women of reproductive age and children” in the targeted counties.
“We will support all interventions that support our change agenda and especially one targeting to improve the welfare of our people. The CASCADE project speaks to one of the food security programmes that we are undertaking in the county through climate resilience projects, healthcare improvement and sustainable livelihoods,” Governor Badilisha noted in his remarks to the team, which also included First Lady H.E Grace Kiarie.
The delegation is on a county-wide visit, meeting select groups involved in the project.
