Operations in all the county Vocational Training Centers

His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha has ordered for a thorough audit of operations in all the county Vocational Training Centers to ascertain their financial, academic and equipment status.
Speaking this morning at Njabini VTC when he hosted Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Hon. Moses Kuria, who is on a visit to the county’s training institutions, Governor Badilisha said that “I want a comprehensive report on operations of these centers to ascertain how the Ksh. 25 million capitation is being utilized. We must evaluate governance structures to guarantee accountability. Further, we want value for money and also courses that address market needs of our people and economy.”
The County and National Government are working on a framework of revitalizing VTCs in a partnership with the National Youth Service that’s aimed at increasing students’ population, modernizing infrastructure and equipment, and widen the courses offered.
Also present was the Deputy Governor H.E Mathara Mwangi, CECMs Hon. John Muiru and Hon. Mary Kamande, area MCA Hon. Kiiru Gachomba, Hon. Beth Wahito and Hon. Patience Manga, among a host of other leaders.
