The ongoing digital skilling of the youth across all county and national government vocational institutions is aimed at moving students from “just learners into earners” during and after their training, His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha has told students and trainers gathered at Kipipiri Technical and Vocational Training Institute.
“This training further seeks to adequately prepare and induct the current and future generation of citizens into the digital economy. And it goes beyond the youth; provision of free internet in markets and public spaces is also aimed at creating marketing platforms by connecting agricultural producers and buyers,” Governor Badilisha added.
The County Head had accompanied Cabinet Secretary for ICT and Digital Economy Hon. Eliud Owalo during his visit to the institution where they opened a modern digital laboratory. Earlier, the two leaders had visited Nyandarua National Polytechnic for a similar function.
Present were several leaders among them MCAs Hon. Isaac Mbae and Hon. Paul Ngeche.
