In Kanjuiri ward where His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha had an extensive tour of a Macadamia and Avocado farm which has demonstrated the potential of the crops growing and doing well in Nyandarua County.
 
The farm, owned by William Cira, grows the two crops, and this venture dovetails into a similar program which Governor Badilisha has been undertaking of supplying farmers with Avocado seedlings as part of diversifying agriculture in the county.
 
Revival of agriculture value chains, including diversification of crops and livestock, agro processing and aggregation are some of the interventions being implemented under the Change Manifesto whose five-year development strategy – the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP 3).
 
Present were the Speaker of the County Assembly Hon. Stephen Wachira, CECM Hon. Francis Miring’u and CoS Peter Thiari.
