It is time the dream of our people to have their own university is realized by finalizing on the remaining last steps including granting of a charter, His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses Kiarie Badilisha has told the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Hon. Ezekiel Machogu.
Speaking this afternoon during the second graduation ceremony for the Aberdares Teachers Training College in Leshau Pondo ward, Governor Badilisha added that it was important that relevant agencies of government discharge their mandate to actualize His Excellency President William Ruto’s promise to the people of Nyandarua county.
“Let’s not defer this dream any further. Let’s all work together to make this a reality. A university is not just a symbolic institution for us, but a tool of development and one which dovetails into our development strategies and plans,” the Governor stated.
On local development, the County Head noted that he is fully satisfied with the steps taken to absorb development budget which “has touched every inch of this county. We have now embarked on full actualization of the Badilisha manifesto and I’m more than optimistic of the strides we have made and will make. Never have we achieved a percent of development like we have done.”
He was accompanied by several MPs, CECMs and a host of MCAs among them area representative Hon. Gathungu Kamau.
