Don’t shy away from seeking support for mental health.
His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses N. Badilisha Kiarie has urged County residents not to shy away from seeking support for mental health.

In remarks delivered on his behalf by County Secretary and Head of Public Service Mr. Frank K. Muchina during consultations with the Nyahururu-based St. Martin’s Catholic Social Apostolate, the Governor noted that unemployment, drugs and substance abuse have increasingly become the main triggers for mental illness in Nyandarua.

The outcome, he warned, could be more school drop outs coupled with gender-based violence unless communities rally for help.

The Governor revealed that Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) across Nyandarua are fast providing life skills and wealth creation opportunities to County youth as part of his administration’s efforts to give them hope.

He announced his readiness to provide resources for interested stakeholders, including trainers, through County Executive Committee Member for Education, Children, Gender Affairs, Culture and Social Services Hon. John Muiru.
The department’s Chief Officer, Dr. Pachomius Wambugu, was present.
