Graduation 53 youths following a week-long filmmaking skills development program at the Youth Empowerment Centre in Ol’Kalou Sub-County.
His Excellency Deputy Governor Mathara Mwangi joins Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Film Commission Mr. Timothy Owase in graduating 53 youths following a week-long filmmaking skills development program at the Youth Empowerment Centre in Ol’Kalou Sub-County.
 
The training, which attracted young people from Nyandarua’s five sub-counties, aimed at equipping the participants with basic filmmaking skills in line with His Excellency Governor (Dr.) Moses N. Badilisha Kiare’s transformative youth agenda.
 
Their much-acclaimed output included short-feature films “Kinyua” and “Wa hitho-ini,” directed by Harun Wambugu and Matthew Mwangi respectively.
 
Accompanied by County Executive Committee Member for Youth Empowerment, Sports and Arts Hon. Catherine Gitau and her Chief Officer Mr. John Kariuki, the Deputy Governor announced the County Government’s readiness to continue partnering with the Commission to help youth monetize skills they have attained.
 
He also thanked Diamond Trust Bank’s Ol’Kalou Branch for supporting the program.
